On August 12, 2026, at the Global Coffee Awards – Latin America competition in Houston, Texas, an independent panel of Q Grader judges conducted a blind tasting of coffees from roasters across Latin America.

After rigorous, double-blind judging, Gento Coffee Roasters was named National Winner – Guatemala for the second year in a row, a recognition that celebrates both roasting excellence and the producers behind every cup. 🇬🇹✨

This is Gento's second consecutive year holding the title, following the 2025 win. The repeat result matters because it shows the 2025 win wasn't a single strong showing. Guatemalan coffee, roasted at origin, is producing consistent, competitive quality.

What Is the National Winner Award at the Global Coffee Awards?

The National Winner title comes from the GCA's Origin Roaster category. Roasters based in coffee-producing countries, like Guatemala, Colombia, or Honduras, qualify automatically when they submit coffee grown in their home country. The top-scoring roaster in each producing country is named that country's National Winner.

Most coffee models export green beans for roasting abroad. Gento roasts in Guatemala City instead, which keeps more value inside producing communities and preserves freshness and traceability from farm to bag.

Every roast is a collaboration between farmers, cuppers, and the roasting team on the ground.
