Story

At Gento, every coffee tells a story. We’re proud to name our newest addition after José Fernando, a partner coffee producer from the highlands of Huehuetenango. With over 23 years of experience, José Fernando and his family tend Finca La Montaña, a farm nestled among the region’s highest peaks. The farm’s name reflects its lofty location, where cool mountain air and rich soils create the perfect environment for specialty coffee. What began as land for corn, beans, and cattle has flourished into a haven for exceptional coffee, thanks to José Fernando’s vision and care.

Today, Finca La Montaña’s coffee plants thrive at altitudes of 1,800 to 2,050 meters, producing vibrant Bourbon and Caturra varieties. Each cup from this special lot is a testament to José Fernando’s commitment to quality, his family’s hard work, and the unique character of their mountain home—a story we’re honored to share with every brew.
