Details

Sugar cane and raspberry. Sweet, bright, and beautifully clean.

Reserva de la Familia is a limited-edition Guatemalan specialty coffee produced by Ellen Prentice at Finca de Dios, our founder's family farm in Fraijanes, Guatemala.

Made entirely from the Bourbon coffee variety and grown at 1,750 meters, this special lot begins with coffee cherries carefully handpicked at peak ripeness. During harvest, exceptional cherries are selected and separated from the rest of the farm's coffee specifically to create Reserva de la Familia.

Produced in limited quantities, it's a coffee that showcases the sweetness, clarity, and quality that careful selection can bring to the cup.

What makes Reserva de la Familia special?

It begins with selection.

Only carefully selected, fully ripe coffee cherries are chosen for this limited lot. After harvest, the coffee is fully washed, creating a clean cup that allows the natural sweetness and fruit characteristics of the Bourbon variety to shine.

The beans are then slowly sun-dried on raised beds, allowing for a careful and even drying process that helps preserve the quality developed on the farm.

Ellen Prentice, an agronomist and specialty coffee producer, has managed Finca de Dios for more than 10 years with a focus on quality throughout cultivation, harvest, and processing.

What does Reserva de la Familia taste like?

Reserva de la Familia is sweet and bright with notes of sugar cane and raspberry.

The clean sweetness of sugar cane is complemented by juicy raspberry, creating an elegant and expressive cup with a beautifully clean finish.

For coffee drinkers who enjoy sweet, fruit-forward specialty coffees, Reserva de la Familia offers a distinctive expression of high-altitude Bourbon coffee from Guatemala.

Why is Reserva de la Familia a limited-edition coffee?

Reserva de la Familia is produced in small quantities because the coffee is selected from exceptional cherries within the Finca de Dios harvest rather than produced as one of the farm's larger lots.

That careful selection means availability changes with each harvest. When the right coffee is there, we separate it. When it isn't, we don't.
